About TAIS

There is a need for an academically-superior American boarding school in Taiwan. TAIS is a preparatory school designed for students who plan to attend American universities but lack the English levels required for effective study in an American high school environment.

Today Taiwan Adventist International School (TAIS) is happy to share our exciting news about the Adventist Education system’s efforts in Taiwan. After a long, difficult process, TAIS has been approved as a “Taiwan International Experimental Education Institute” by the Nantou County Government as of June 17, 2015. Taiwan Adventist International School will retain its English school name but will have a new Chinese name: 南投復臨國際實驗教育機構.

Students who register from September 2015 onward will be allowed to register under both the Taiwan education system as well as the American education system. They will be able to earn two diplomas (if they pass all requirements and tests) upon successful graduation. This is also a big step for Taiwan education; TAIS will be the first fully English-language education program of this kind in Taiwan that has been permitted to enroll Taiwanese students who don’t have a second-country’s passport.

TAIS offers this education program through the educational system of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Adventist schools in Taiwan have been providing Taiwanese 7th-12thgrade education and American K-8th grade education for more than 40 years.

TAIS is located on a beautiful 50 hectare campus which is surrounded by the breathtaking mountains of central Taiwan. It also boasts convenient access to beautiful Sun Moon Lake as well as the bustling town of Puli.

The mission of Taiwan Adventist International School is to provide superior Christian education consistent with Biblical principles and dedicated, professional faculty presenting God as the source of all life and truth. Within a secure, loving environment, students will discover their individual gifts and develop spiritually, socially, and intellectually. TAIS will educate each unique student in cooperation with the Christian community so that he or she is equipped and inspired to make a difference for Jesus Christ in the world.

Philosophy & Objectives

Adventist education seeks to develop a life of faith in God and respect for the dignity of all human beings; to build character akin to that of the Creator; to nurture thinkers rather than mere reflectors of others’ thoughts; to promote loving service rather than selfish ambition; to ensure maximum development of each individual’s potential; and to embrace all that is true, good, and beautiful.

An education of this kind imparts far more than academic knowledge. It fosters a balanced development of the whole person – physically, intellectually, socially, and spiritually. Working together, homes, schools, and churches cooperate with divine agencies in preparing learners for responsible citizenship in this world and in the world to come.
