Graduation Requirements

A diploma is granted to a student:

  1. Who has been in attendance for at least the full final semester of the school year immediately prior to graduation.
  2. Whose conduct and attendance have been satisfactory.
  3. Who has demonstrated 12th grade competency in the areas of Reading, Mathematics, and Language.
  4. Who has a zero balance on the school account.
  5. Who has completed the following course work in a satisfactory manner:

Religion

4 Credit Units (5 Credit Units each year in attendance at an Adventist secondary school.)

Language Arts

5.5 Credit Units (1 Credit Units must be in research methodology and writing)

Science

3 Credit Units (1 must be a physical science and 1 must be a biological science)

Mathematics

3 Credit Units

Social Studies/Humanities

3 Credit Units including 1 Credit Units of U.S. History,0.5 Credit Units of U.S. Government*.

Physical Education

2 Credit Units - 2 years (required during either 9th and 10th grades and then either 11th or 12th grade)

Health

0.5 Credit Units

Computer Applications/Keyboarding

1 Credit Units

Fine Arts

1 Credit Units

Electives**

2.5 Credit Units

College Preparatory

3 Credit Units minimum including: 

1 Units of Math

1 Units of English

1 Units of Sciences

Total

24 Credit Units

1 Credit Units is equal to 1 year.

*Students not planning to attend US colleges may apply to substitute US History and US Government with pre-approved electives.

**Elective credits must include 1 Credit Unit of Physical Education every two years.
