Graduation Requirements

A diploma is granted to a student:

  1. Who has been in attendance for at least the full final semester of the school year immediately prior to graduation.
  2. Whose conduct and attendance have been satisfactory.
  3. Who has demonstrated 9th grade competency in the areas of Reading, Mathematics, and Language.
  4. Who has a zero balance on the school account.
  5. Who has completed the following course work in a satisfactory manner:
Religion 40 Credit Units (5 Credit Units each year in attendance at an Adventist secondary school.)
Language Arts 55 Credit Units (10 Credit Units must be in research methodology and writing)
Science 30 Credit Units (10 must be a physical science and 1 must be a biological science)
Mathematics 30 Credit Units
Social Studies/Humanities 30 Credit Units including 10 Credit Units of U.S. History, 5 Credit Units of U.S. Government*.
Physical Education 20 Credit Units - 2 years (required during either 9th and 10th grades and then either 11th or 12th grade)
Health 5 Credit Units
Computer Applications/Keyboarding 10 Credit Units
Fine Arts 10 Credit Units
Electives** 25 Credit Units
College Preparatory 30 Credit Units minimum including:
  • 10 Unit of Math
  • 10 Unit of English
  • 10 Unit of Sciences
Total 240 Credit Units

10 Credit Units is equal to 1 year.

*Students not planning to attend US colleges may apply to substitute US History and US Government with pre-approved electives.

**Elective credits must include 1 Credit Units of Physical Education every two years.
